Even though snow plows may not clean the surface as well as a broom they typically have a higher capacity for snow removal than brooms. If you are an airport without a snow blower, a snow plow may be your only option for casting snow off the paved area.

- H-Series with brooms are considered the a primary snow removal machine at most airports and suitable for any of you airport “snow belt” tractor buyers
- Intended Use: Rotary power brooms on Oshkosh H-Series Chassis are proven to be one of the most effective runway snow removal tools available. Modern rotary power brooms have the ability to remove snow down to a clean, dry runway surface in most snow conditions. Larger, commercial airports may utilize large teams of these vehicles while smaller airports may be able to keep their runways open with only one or two vehicles.

A snow plow attachment on the front of the vehicle pushes the largest quantity of snow, while the trailing broom clears away the rest to a bare runway surface.
