New Tub Body Line from DuraClass with models HPT-B1 and HPT-B2
What’s the latest innovation in dump truck bodies? Tub design. Meet the new DuraClass HPT-B1 and HPT-B2 tub body trucks.
This new line has been engineered specifically to meet all heavy duty dump body requirements. It’s stylish, tough and dependable – the traits that have established DuraClass as the go-to choice for contractors and municipalities.
Tub design offers numerous benefits.
- Full depth rear corner posts and fully enclosed front corner posts increase both strength and durability by keeping dimensions true and rigid.
- Semi-elliptical body with rounded floor and low center of gravity add strength and durability for heavy hauling.
- High tensile steel, an under-structure without cross-members and body sidewall without extra bracing streamline the body and deliver outstanding payload-to-weight ratio.
- Loads discharge easily from the rounded tub.
- The rear hinges are greaseable and feature the industry’s widest bearing surface and largest pin diameter.
Every DuraClass heavy duty dump body incorporates the company’s patented one-piece body sidewall with continuous, completely enclosed top rail, side and running boards. That eliminates the need for outside welds under the tarp rail, preventing problems from moisture or freezing.
What’s the difference between the HPT-B1 and HPT-B2?
The HPT-B1 has been described as the “standard for heavy duty dump body quality and service.” It features closed-fender design and can be spec’d in carbon steel or stainless steel. It comes in 14’ to 18’ lengths.
The new HPT-B2 features an open fender design. You can order 10’ or 11’ lengths in 3/16” AR400 carbon steel or 14’ to 18’ lengths in high tensile carbon steel. Stainless steel is an option. This model has no enclosed sections that could trap moisture and cause rust, and depending on the body size, it weighs from 183 to 250 pounds less than the HPT-B1.
Both models offer capacity that ranges from 10-20 yards, depending on body size. And you can order either version with an aluminum cab shield or tailgate. Standard equipment on both HPT-B1 and HPT-B2 includes:
- Cutouts for lights with one set Oval STT.
- Single level power tower with mounting plates for both Chelsea and Muncie Air PTO controls.
- Standard loose body props.
- Hydraulic reservoir.
- ICC and Oval STT LED light kit with harness.
- Sloping rub rails with 2” radius corners.
- Standard hydraulic package includes a CCW rotation pump, but you can spec a CW rotation pump at no additional cost.
- Prime paint.
There are also numerous tub body options for both models:
- Sloped tailgate.
- Reverse asphalt taper.
- Sloping side panels.
- High-lift air or hydraulic tailgate.
- Dual action side swing tailgate.
- Body side steps.
- Handles and air-operated hoist controls.
- Customizable body and tailgate heights.
- Multiple sliding door options and cylinder/doghouse configurations.
- Accessories such as cab shields, patch gates, tarp rods, walk rails and LED lights.
DuraClass also offers HPT hoists, again with multiple benefits:
- Greater capacity through use of high-pressure hydraulics..
- Faster cycle times for greater productivity.
- Better stability, thanks to low center of gravity and strong pin design.
- Increased durability with hard chrome plated hoist sleeves.
- Lighter weight, low maintenance head-mount design.
Now that the DuraClass HPT-B1 and HPT-B2 are available, your next dump truck could be a tub.
